Join tavern historian Liz Garibay for a thirst-free history adventure through some of Chicago’s unique watering holes. Tours make approximately four stops and explore the history of each establishment and its neighborhood.

Participants receive drink specials at each location when possible. Beverages and food are not included in the ticket price.

Magical Mystery Pub Crawl

Hocus pocus history! Tour the city's magical past with magician David Kovac, visit local taverns, and enjoy a live magic performance.

Rock Around the (History) Clock

Saturday, May 3, 10:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m.

Sixty years ago, Bill Haley & His Comets released “Rock Around the Clock,” now considered one of the most important records in rock ‘n’ roll history. Rock and roll through Windy City music history, visiting an array of saloons.

Hair of the Dog Tour

Sunday, May 4, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Did you have a little too much “history” last night? Join us the morning after as we visit healing spots around town, discover local cures, and finish strong at one of our favorite watering holes!

Saloons of the L

Sunday, May 11, 1:00–4:00 p.m.

All aboard! Taverns and trains have both played pivotal roles in the development of our city. Without either, Chicago just wouldn’t be Chicago. Join us for an afternoon of L hoppin’ as we nestle into saloons nestled under historic stops and chat about our town’s elevated past.

Refunds for a tour will be given in the form of tour credit which can be applied to another tour. Credit will be given with a minimum of two weeks notice prior to the day of the tour. No exceptions.
