Wonderful Wizard of Oz Park

Oz Park Scarecrow statueJoin us for a stroll down the yellow brick road through beautiful Oz Park. Learn about the development and history of the park and how Chicago influenced the creation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved story and characters. Presented in collaboration with the Oz Park Advisory Council.

Know Your Neighborhood

Walking ToursGet to know the city’s historic neighborhoods, from the opulent mansions of the Gold Coast to the vibrant past of Old Town. Tours are held on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and meet in front of the Museum.

The Glitzy Gold Coast

Whisk away to a time when Chicago’s rich and famous caroused on the coast. Wander through the neighborhood and learn about our city’s early history, its founders, public art and architecture.

The Old Town Trek

Saturdays, April 24 and May 22, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon

From Germans to hippies to yuppies, Old Town has seen an assortment of residents come and go. On this unique walking tour of Old Town, learn about the neighborhood’s colored past as well as its vibrant present.

Graceland Cemetery Tour

Sunday, May 16, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 noon

Experience the history of old Chicago as you venture through one of the country's most famous cemeteries. Al Walavich takes you on a fascinating tour through the graves of Graceland Cemetery, including famous Chicagoans Marshall Field, Louis Sullivan, Potter and Bertha Palmer, and George Pullman.

Meet in the cemetery entrance at Irving Park Road and Clark Street.

Refund Policy:
Refunds for a tour will be given in the form of tour credit which can be applied to another tour. Credit will be given with a minimum of two weeks notice prior to the day of the tour. No exceptions.
