The Museum offers guided tours of several permanent and temporary exhibitions to help you make the most of your visit. Your visit includes a tour led by a trained docent in the gallery of your choice. Please schedule four to six weeks in advance.

Neighborhood Walking Tours
Available May 1 through October 15

Gold Coast
See the opulent mansions and elegant townhouses of the city's wealthiest neighborhood. Learn about the historic Astor Street district and the area's most famous residents, including the McCormicks, Palmers, and Wrigleys.
Old Town
Explore the architecture of one of the city's oldest neighborhoods. Founded by German immigrants in the 1800s, Old Town became a gathering place for hippies in the late 1960s. Today, it is a thriving artists' haven, business district, and home to many young professionals.
Lincoln Park
Immerse yourself in the beauty and history of one of the country's most famous parks during this two-mile walking tour. Visit the park's numerous gardens and statues of William Shakespeare, Benjamin Franklin, and Abraham Lincoln.

History Boat Tours
Available April 1 through Thanksgiving

Enjoy a history lesson while cruising along Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. Our 90-minute voyage takes you along Chicago's incomparably scenic and fascinating lakefront, where each showcase gem reveals another facet of the city's tumultuous story.
