The variety of land use along Washington Street is even more striking than in the previous photographs, with an empty lot and what appears to be a modest house adjoining the grand Mechanics' Hall, where the members of the First Methodist Church worshipped while their own building was under construction. The Burnham Center is currently on this corner.
