Poster for 125th Anniversary Fire Prevention Week
"Don't Let it Happen Again," 1996 Enduring Symbol
In 1996, as had long been the practice, the week including the anniversary of the conflagration was designated "Fire Prevention Week." The purpose of the occasion, jointly supported by public and private sponsors, was not so much to commemorate the old fire but to avoid a new one. The poster was designed by Philip M. Kalas of Edison Regional Gifted Center.
