While this web site hopes to reach a broad audience that includes those for whom a trip to
the Society is not readily possible, it also wishes to encourage viewers near and far to make
the actual first-hand visit to the Society's collections that no virtual visit can replace.
The Society organized several other activities for the 125th anniversary. These included a benefit buffet (named Hot! Hot! Hot!) and the performance of a play titled The Night Chicago Died. A special day was planned for children, featuring storytellers, safety tips from members of the Fire Department, and a visit from Mrs. O'Leary. |
