The Chicago History Museum is proud to provide free, engaging field trip experiences for students in grades 3 to 12. Aligned with state standards, our field trips will enhance any curriculum.

Book a field trip to visit our original exhibitions. Experience the debut of an audio tour written and performed by local teenagers. Prepare for or follow up on your visit with Great Chicago Stories and our other online resources.

There’s a lot to do, see, and learn at the Chicago History Museum!

History à la Cart stations
Build a skyscraper, trace the route of the Great Fire, visit the world’s fair of 1893, measure prairie plants, and much more.
High school experiences
Special opportunities for older students include an audio tour made by teens for teens and a painting master class.
Permanent exhibitions
These galleries provide the core Museum experience for students and offer many opportunities for hands-on learning.
Temporary exhibitions 2007-08
Our special exhibitions this year feature quilts, maps and paintings.
