Our volunteers’ time and talent are vital to the success of the Chicago History Museum. If you are college-age or older, have some free time during a week day or weekend day, and are looking for a rewarding, enriching experience, then volunteering at the Museum may be for you.
Museum volunteers bring skills, life-experience, and energy to supporting the Museum's mission and the work of our staff as they donate their time.
History Buff Tour Guide
Help visitors discover that history is all around them by learning to lead some of our most unique outdoor tours ranging from tours of the Gold Coast and Old Town Neighborhoods, to a stroll where pooches are the perfect companions. With their duties occurring mostly on weekends, History Buff volunteers receive training and mentoring from professional tour guides, veteran volunteers, and museum staff.
